Happy Monday everyone! This Sunday I was able to explore Toronto a little more with someone who knew a lot more about it than I did. I get lost in my own area so needless to say I am far from direction savvy - it is actually pretty funny! Some of the places we went to sparked some memory but for the most part, I was a tourist in my own city.
We were able to cross a few things off of my list, and slowly we are going to try and cross them all, how sweet! Though, every time something is completed off of my list, 2 new things get added. We have decided we are going to try and visit downtown once a week or every two weeks to take pictures, try something new to eat and try something new to do (which makes for a very happy Gena).
Squish When getting off the subway at Queen, we waltzed into the Eaton Centre and the first thing I see is this Squish corridor. I stood there for 20 minutes picking up the 5/$22 deal of mini vegan gummy candies. Caleb is big on gummy candies, I wanted to surprise him when we went to the bathroom. Of course, my indecisive self was taking too long and he saw me while picking: "Caleb, tryyyyy this *shoves it into his mouth*...help me pick". We went with the presecco bears, blueberry witches, extreme sour variety pack, passion fruit mango drops and strawberry squishes. They were perfect to snack on. I saw a mini stand of Soma items, it is on our list for next time!
Daily Press Juicery
I was skeptical about "juicing". It's a fad that I wasn't sure if I would like these juices, and to be honest, I fiured I wouldn't like it as much. But, I am always eaar to try just about anythin at least once. I was nervous about how potent some of the flavours would be together. Pink Warrior was my pick and Caleb got Mylkilicious. To be honest, I was surprised I liked them both. Pink Warrior has a sweet iner taste, while Mylkilicious tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Flu Shot even tasted yummy! I will definitely go back and try and few more flavours it really felt good to have something that I knew was good for the body, my own little juice-tox!
It's refreshing to shop around with someone who likes to shop too! Now, Caleb knows more of the men's street wear stores. Get Me Fly, Due West and Vitaly were his picks. I went into Aritzia, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, Untitled & Co, Runway Lux and NYX. But funny enough, I purchased something from the men's streetwear store (Vitality). Also, I am going to be borrowing his new purchases.
Ahh I got to visit Geaffiti Ally and take more pictures by the art, I love graffiti! I think it's so pretty!
"You have never been here before"?! Nope, I know, I know - everyone has. We were deciding between this and Dime (apparently the newer QSWH by the same owners, but seeing as I haven't eaten at the original, we went there). Now when people have told me everything is $5.00, I assumed it was a figure of speech. But no, EVERYTHING is $4.95 (with exceptions of add ons) and the food is yummy too. I recommend the Queso dip, yam fries and the Caesar wrap. I ordered the tacos but they had too much of a beer taste to them (I believe the meat is cooked in beer). This place is great and known for their drinks (you can get drunk cheap).
