When I said 2017 is about execution, I meant it. The goal is to try one new thing every week. This could be something as simple as trying a new coffee shop or following through with a new recipe to expand my cooking repertoire.
Although the list is growing, items are slowly but surely being crossed off. I love that I am following through with my intentions this year.
Adam and I crossed off two blogger inspired foodie places that I found via Instagram. If you didn't know, Instagram is my number one tool I use to compile my foodie inspired finds. This has become easier with the new savvy "save tab" on your IG profile. The bottom right arrow on individual Instagram posts can now be to save photos for a later reference. If you are like me, your "likes" are probably filled to the brim. I double tap so much that it would be difficult to go back and check out items I wanted to visit. Another hack is compiling lists on your iPhone notes. For me, the notes are separated into various food categories.
I haven't seen my honey boo boo (Adam) in a while, I called him up and it seemed as through our intentions followed a similar linear path.
Cafe Neon was not the original stop on the list. We intended to check out Colete Grand Cafe. We then decided to try Hula Girl Coffee Espresso Bar and call it a day. But, when we met up I came across Cafe Neon via @cityinstills (posted that day). Adam and I looked at each other and felt the brunch monkey closely creeping on our backs. With just a look, we new where we were headed (best friends can communicate with just a look).
Adam ordered Eggs Benny w/ pork as I ordered the Breakfast Plate (egg whites scrambles, chicken sausage, salad and home fries). The place itself is located on a side street far from busier streets of Toronto. The food was tasty enough. I would go back...BUT my favouite stop of the day was Versus Coffee.
At Versus, we ordered a Torched Campfire Latte and a banana Nutella sandwich...SOO GOOD! We all agreed this is a great place to come, nibble on a delicious snacks/coffee and potentially get some work done. A young girl was there completing her essay and I thought, what a perfect place to escape...I will do this next time I need a new space to collect my essay thoughts. I noticed Avocado Toast on their menu. Their version of it includes: avocado, goat cheese with salt and pepper to taste, which looked amazing! I am going to try it the next time I venture to Versus. Madison decided to join in on the fun which personally made the day that much better (love you gorgeous).
In between laughs and feeding one another, we planned some up coming fun for a future trip. Once it is set in stone (officially booked) we will have some shopping to do...perhaps a how to pack for ______ is in order.
