It has been a while since I have posted on my blog, but that is not to say I haven't still been with you all, especially since my FEED has taken up a lot of my focus recently. If you notice my main page is taking a hit, please check out my FEED which is filled with weekly if not daily updates!
Two days ago was LOVE day! Ahh, Valentine's Day! I hope everyone had a magnificent Tuesday. If that included eating a pint of ice cream to your face while watching How To Get Away With Murder, so be it. My favourite part of this not so traditional holiday is the ability to express your gratitude, care and love for those in your life. It could be anyone really who means something to you. I give some gifts to friends and spend some part of the day with my family. Of course, the evening was spent one on one, but half the fun is getting to throw your love around like confetti.
Down below are his and her ideas on how to make next Valentine's day one to never forget. I have to say, gentlemen, take note on the tips section. Caleb truly out did himself and I don't think there could be a better way to woo someone in your life quite like he did. I don't mean to brag, I merely want to give credit where credit is due. This surprise took so much planning and infinite details to make it a special night for me. It was extremely personalized and gave me the biggest smile. I had the best Valentine's day I have ever had. But, more on that in a few.
1. Personalize It
When asking Caleb how he came up with his idea he admitted looking through my Twitter feed and Pinterest boards to find things that I liked. My tweets told him about new things I wanted to try and Pinterest gave him romantic ideas/things I have always wanted to try. He saved a picture of an indoor picnic from one of my boards which is something I can now cross off my list.
2. Listen Closely
The best part of a gift is not the price tag, but the thought behind it. So when I saw the picnic basket associated with what laid before my eyes, my first thought was: "he remembered". Flash black to 4 months ago I had mentioned a picnic is not complete without a basket. As I blabbered on about things I love and wanted to try, Caleb was taking notes...in the most literal sense. As seen on my Christmas Guide, Caleb has made notes of things I love or have mentioned wanting. Thus, the picnic had my favourite beef bulgogi from Daisuki! This goes for anyone out there, be sure to listen attentively or even do some digging on social media to find the perfect partner pairing to make the night memorable.
3. Have Fun
Don't get too stressed out when trying to figure out what to do or what to get, 9 time out of 10 the answer is right in front of you. Caleb loves basketball, more specifically the Raptors. He is also a fashion enthusiast and is always dressed to the nines in the best street style clothing. Thus, tickets to a ball game and a few articles of clothing from his favourite store WLKN was an easy choice. Try to focus on them and what you like about them. For me, I enjoy Caleb's passionate personality. When he loves, he loves in excess: basketball, fashion, sugared sour candies, the gym, music, pictures...the list goes on and on. Have fun with those specific passions. First lay it out, find your categories and explore. Google has always been a trusty side kick of mine over the years to help further my ideas.
4. Hit A Wall, Pinterest Has It All
We've all been there, stressing out, bleak in the face of what to do or what to give. Pinterest has great romantic ideas for your significant other, especially your partners. You do not know how amazing this online picture diary can be, it is the most useful tool in any and all relationships. Pinterest is a personal inspiration board, a collection of categories that your partner selectively re-pins for themselves. Thus, anything on there will be things they enjoy/link/want/aspire to be/do or have. You have found the key...you are welcome. Of course, a gift can be as simple as a personalized coupon book, flowers and chocolates or as elaborate as a weekend away. Whatever you decide will be one he or she will love because it will come from you. If hints have been left about not ever having a good Valentine's... don't follow suit. I am a big romantic, I think romance will always have to be apart of my relationships. Keep in mind, everyone is different. Some people would rather a Netflix date and pizza (don't get me wrong, that can be FANTASTIC)! You know your significant other best. Maybe this year will be low key and other years are more over the top. It can be dependent on a new work venture, schooling, what you can afford or a discussion based on limitations. A little gesture can mean the world. I find perusing the isles of Walmart, Shoppers or a favourite gift shop can be just as inspiring.

Down below is a look book of my festivities
My beautiful bouquet of roses from Caleb. Coloured roses (white and black are my favourite)!
The PICNIC! Complete with fondue. He did not skimp on the aesthetics with this one. So beautifully presented and super yummy. My favourite was the peppered goat cheese.
The basket! Ahh...how cute! Let's not forget the beef Bulgogi sitting in the basket awaiting my tummy.
Best friend Valentine's Brunch curtesy of Alla! She bought me a box of chocolates and went all out for out February 14th morning together.
This ice cream/doughnut cone parlour has been on Caleb's want to try list for months. With their grand openning just a few days ago on Bloor Street, I knew I had to take him here before the game.
My night was not complete, besides the surprise picnic and petals leading to my door, I also received a bunny bear, a new poetry book, chocolates and bath bombs. The most thoughtful gifts and the most amazing night ever...see what I mean guys, take notes.
Eva's BRAND NEW mini cones...Caleb had the Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake cone (with real cake pieces). His may have tasted better, but mine was Gena size. We had an unofficial bet if they would have mini sizes...and guess who was right! I hope they incorperate some of their OG flavours in the mini sizes.
Look who we bumped into at the game, my two beautiful sisters!
My favourite thing to order at the ACC: Hot Lime Bling chicken strips. I upgrade my fries to poutine and got the strips on the side. Caleb enjoys the extra heat so he added some bell peppers to his meal!
