La Vie est Belle...direct translation: ‘Life is beautiful’. Whereas Lavelle’s translation is ‘fond of movement or travel’.
As you all know, I have had wanderlust hit me in full effect. After having written a few travel blogs (some of which are just awaiting an upload) I decided to dive myself again into my fashion and coffee flare more intently. Perhaps the change in weather has been skyrocketing my mood, or perhaps it is the shift in my outlook...but life is going well. I am starting to (again) find the beauty and happiness in all of my days. I have also been refocusing any sad or negative energy into motivating myself to persevere with my goals. It is not to say I don’t get down, but I do my best not to slum in sadness which I have been known to do on occasion. (scroll to the bottom for my outfit details)
May summer bring forth a new air of love and light and may we all be blessed with a grateful mind, the peace to accept the things we cannot change and sublime joy for all the positive things in our life that we have to smile about.
You have all met snippets of my co-worker and very good friend Gigi from Snap and Instagram stories, but you will most definitely be seeing her on more of my adventures in Toronto. Miss Gigi has a salacious soul; she displays beauty in all its forms. Inside and out she is filled with love, good vibes and visibly...it’s just too hard not to stare at her gorgeous face! Yesterday marked the first girl’s day we shared together outside of a work setting. I truly believe work friendships can lead to lifelong friendships. Hi there Nicole and Gelen, if you ladies are reading...I adore you both!
Ps. Gigi and I both adore fashion. Our date was filled with various outfit changes. I am obsessed with her fashion Instagram page: @__style_on_fleek__. If you want to be inspired by Pinterest photos, or her various fashionable ootd's, you must follow her page. Like minded people have too much fun together, thus our blogger dates are going to be filling up your feeds soon enough.
Our first official stop was Lavelle. I had seen pictures of this rooftop bar plastered over Instagram and decided it was time I had tried it out myself. Walking into this palace, I was first confused. We walked down the rainbow steps and pressed the elevator to R (rooftop). I almost wasn’t sure if I was going to the right place. As soon as the doors opened, my eyes widened with its aesthetics. The pastel florals, whites and luxurious pools could only be crafted in a bloggers dream world. We got there early to take advantage of shooting purposes. Upon arrival, I immediately set my eyes on trying out theirLunch Special Pre-Fix for $29.00.
The special offers an option from two starters, three mains and choice from two desserts. To start, I ordered their soup of the day (Tomato Bisque) and for the main course I chose The Agnolotti. If anyone of you has ever eaten at fine dining restaurant, you know their portion sizes can be smaller than expected. Especially when choosing a pasta dish. Perhaps it was because it was the lunch prefix that The Agnolotti offered me 5 pieces, but each bite made me yearn for more. This dish was jam packed with rich flavours. The hazelnuts, feta, and butternut squash compliment the citrus infusion sauce all too well making my tummy smile. My only complaint is wanting 10 more platefuls because it was too good. Gigi ordered The Steak Sandwich which almost tasted like a gravy engulfed baguette. If you love savory onions and cheese, you simply must order the sandwich.
All and all the food was on par with its beautifully lavish exterior. I could sit in the booth and take pictures all day...oh wait, I did do that! I also recommend ordering the cookies as your dessert. These chocolate goodies vanished within seconds. I would love to come here during a Toronto sunset and enjoy a few drinks on the patio during warmer days and perhaps take advantage of their pool.
Fun fact, if you want to use their pool you MUST be a member. The membership you may ask...only a mere $300.00...! I guess I will be sitting inside of the bar! Don’t be disparaged, they do offer two pools; one is open to the public but is very shallow. The luxurious pool with cabins is privatized for its elite memberships (that are open to all) but come at a cost.
I received a message from a friend explaining how Lavelle made an appearance on The Real Housewives of Toronto in one of their episodes. I had no idea but it made the visit a little more memorable.
