To all my gorgeous friends, family and followers, I hope you all know how truly beautiful each and every one of you are. I find time spent with loved ones exploring new places, is time extremely well spent.
Welcome to part two of my downtown adventures with the beautiful Gigi. After a delicious lunch at Lavelle, Gigi and I needed to curb our caffeine fix. Is it just me, or does 3:00p.m make you yearn for a cup of joe? I always seem to need a pick me up in the middle of my day.
I decided that Baddies Toronto would be the perfect visit for Gigi and I, especially because I was going with a true beauty (which will make sense soon enough). I showed Gigi a few options of places that have been on my list of "Toronto must trys" and the Gigi decided on both Lavelle & Baddies because she has an eye for these sort of things. Although, she believes it is the other way around (don't you just love those types of friendships).
As soon as we arrived, Baddies was PACKED. I mean, we saw one available seat and debated on if we should stay or go somewhere else. With a few minute discussion, we decided to take a seat and snap a few shots. Initially, it takes both Gigi and I to warm up to our photoshoots if it's crowded. But once I get going, I really have no care in the world to who is watching me or what they are thinking. It can be such a liberating experience following your passions and not letting anything stand in your way, including a crowded cafe. After capturing the beautiful white and plant filled layout of Baddies, I turned to the menu to order a caffeinated beverage. I ordered a Latte and Gigi ordered an Iced Coffee. Both satisfied our mid-day coffee craving. I also decided to order The Granola + Yogurt Bowl. If you do not like floral tastes, I do not recommend this hearty bowl. With tart Greek yogurt, granola and fresh fruits, you can soar into heaven with each bite. I personally may have drizzled a little honey on top, but I think it is in my Greek genes. Us Greeks adore our Greek yogurt with honey! I must say, the aesthetics of this cafe is outstanding. There is also something about the 'You Beauty" wall that can make anyone look picture perfect.
Baddies is home to friendly baristas who offer to take photos of you and your friend! I would love to give a shout out to Ken who allowed me to tear through the shop taking my blogger style photos. He was kind, patient and filled with friendly small talk. If you waltz into Baddies, I highly recommend ordering from him. Alas, our day was complete and I thoroughly had one of the best days in a long while. It was a great escape to fall right back into the swing of my lifestyle blogging. It was also a fun change to do style blogging merging with my cafe finds.
As Gigi and I bonded over new reads and personal updates, we decided to walk down the streets of Toronto before heading home to Markham. What I love about co-worker friendships is their undeniable support. They see you through the draining work hours, that often coincides with difficult personal times that you simply can't leave at home. I adore my friendships to their very core. My priorities recently have circulated my abilities as a friend and funding my travels. I truly want my focus over the summer months to be about my self-care, personal growth, kindness and my love for others to continually flourish. These goals are centered around bettering myself as a woman who I strive to be daily. I want to be creative, kind, helpful and positive. I hope to achieve all that I set for myself and I know that my support system will help me along the way. Thus, my friends and family deserve my goals to be centred around bettering myself so that I can best service them in their journeys. Finally being able to focus on myself has been a surge of overwhelming relief mixed with surreal happiness. I am the best that I can be when I pay close attention to what keeps me grounded. I encourage you all to prioritize all the things that contribute to personal health, happiness and comfort, whatever they may be. Submerge yourself with your passions that transcends all of of your positive energy. Follow through on your personal goals and relish in the happy moments with kind friends. It all starts with self-care practices. This outing was an extension of filling my soul with positive energy to heighten my mood and to exude serene happiness. Good company can have the best effect on you.
On our way home, the traffic jam hour became our official dance party in my Dodge Dart. We danced the drive away to the latest and some of the greatest Latin hits. If you are anything like me, warmer weather and Spanish music go hand in hand.
I hope you all use this week to focus on your goals. Set them, execute them, find motivation to elevate your mood. Whatever your path is, follow the road that will lead you to the happiest destination. Sending you all positive thoughts and endless encouragement with your path (and your goals).
