This blog is over a month delayed, but there is still so much fun to share! Besides, sometimes it is a positive thing to have an overload of content to share. Atleast, if you are a blogger!
I love sharing potential date ideas and hidden gems within our city (or places a little outside of our city). I often am asked by friends and family of places I think would be fun to take their partner. Sometimes, I am even asked to help them organize their special occasion (date wise). I have developed an affinity for experiencing new things. I look online and create collections on my Instagram, I keep up with BlogTo and even cultivate Pinterest boards in dedication to potential date activities. I live for these kinds of things. I share these potential ideas in hopes that they spark your interest as many bloggers, pins and pages have inspired me. This date in particular is not expensive what so ever. In fact, for under $20.00, you and your partner could have a fun date that veers of the traditional date idea path. You'll get extra points for creativity...let's get started!
This was not the first time Caleb and I visited Lionel's Farm. If you are an avid reader, you may recall during this blog entry, we went to the farm for the first time. I was so happy to return. I had been leaving hints to Caleb that I would love to go back. I honestly believe Lionel's is a perfect day date activity for you and your significant other. It encompasses a new and interactive way to spend some quality time with someone you care about. Instead of doing the typical dates, you find yourself bonding with that special person and with animals, which for me is a win win. If you don't already know this about me, I love animals! For only $2.00 (as entry) you can spend a few hours feeding these adorable animals as seen in our first vlog. I encourage you to bring some veggies from your fridge to feed them ($5.00), this can be loads of fun as you get close and personal with each animal at this point. Take a look at the website to ensure you bring the right kind of food for the animals. They write exactly what is okay to bring (i.e lettuce, baby carrots). Anything they list as a safe food item to bring, feel more than welcome to bring it along.
Caleb is the best! He is always interested in trying out new places and with his gift, you will see us vlog a lot more. Thank you Caleb for my Go-Pro Hero 5! I love making videos and Caleb is ready to come on this journey with me. Although the title 'Our First Vlog' foreshadows moments of us talking through out. We originally did have that. I just changed the direction of this vlog mid edit. I think we will be making more vlog style videos during the months to come as I personally enjoy watching my fellow blogger's vlogs. Sometimes, people in their day to day lives can be most entertaining.
Gena fact: I LOVE bunnies. My first pet was a bunny and ever since, I have been obsessed. When I own my own house, I will definitely be getting another fuzzy bun bun!
After the fun with all my furry friends, we were able to check out Chocolats Favoris. I have been nagging Caleb for us to try out this place seeing as it is close to his home. Also, because I saw this shop booming over social media.
This palace of ice cream wonders is very delectable and very decadent. They offer various sizes from 'baby' to 'large'. The interesting part of this ice cream joint is their signature dips. You can choose from a variety of chocolate coatings to have your ice cream dipped into. The coating is very thick, so if you do not care for chocolate bars or sweets this place may not be for you. It quite literally is like having an entire melted chocolate bar coated on your ice cream.
We were able to try 3 (due to a size error on my part). Well come on, I figured baby would be extra petite. I chose the 'Cookies and Cream' and the 'Peanut Butter'.
You can choose to have the cones plain or ask to upgrade them to for a specific fee. If you opt for the upgrade, they appear aesthetically pleasing. Basically, the upgrade is a bonus for the bloggers of the world to have an instagramable picture (as seen above). 'The Peanut Butter' had a mini roast on it while 'Cookies and Cream' was crusted in Oreos.
