If my posts seem to be a little later then first appeared on my various social media accounts...that is because they are. These recent blog posts are dated back a week or two (or even more) ago. The reason being is I have been working long hours (12hours+) while fitting in more blog style dates on my days off. Thus, my blogs continually pile up while editing and perfecting these entries are delaying. BUT, that just means I have a mountain of ready made content available for my friends, family and any DL&I followers out there.
So let's begin!
After stumbling upon Dazzling Cafe online, I knew this chic dinning experience was a must try. Seeing as I haven't seen my good friend from University in a long while, I decided to make my debut of both her and this cafe all in one post.
My loves, meet Kristen! A beauty guru with a magical eye for fashion and makeup artistry. In our Communication courses, I would always ask where she bought her latest outfit, what brand her lipstick was, what foundation she was loving lately...you get the picture. I was quite literally a little puppy dog ogling her beauty tips, tricks and her choice in her perfect makeup application. One day, she will do a tutorial on my channel to showcase her talent!
Kristen is such a sweetheart, we clicked instantly and after sharing classes from last summer onward, I knew she would be a friend both inside and outside the classroom. I have to admit, in both my majors, I met some amazing lifelong friends.
Off topic as per usual...
We met up to try out this cafe. First and foremost, the atmosphere is a bloggers dream. Glitter counter tops, white aesthetics, adorable decor surrounding the room could make the average person fall in love, let alone bloggers. I fell hard for the bunny eared chairs and for good reason, you all know how much I ADORE bunnies. Our waitress even handed us picture gags/signs! I fell in love.
The real test was the taste of their desserts. They do offer entrees such as pastas and pizzas (click on me for the full menu), but Kristen and I were really craving sweets. Honey Toast is advertised through out their social media as well as it is used within their signage. My curiosity got the best of me seeing as I am a sucker for cute marketing. I ordered The Nutella Honey Toast whereas Kristen ordered The Strawberry Waffles. I truly didn't know what to expect and that made this experience all the more fun.
My first impression was a surreal one. This is probably one of the first few moments where the pictures do not do the meal justice. Have you ever noticed in advertisements, the picture of a meal always looks better then when you order it in person? That saying does not apply to Dazzling Cafe's cuisines. In this instance, I had never seen a dessert presented so beautifully. I did NOT want to touch it. I was in awe of the beautiful presentation and of how HUGE the portion was.
What a pleasant surprise. I will admit, the honey toast is VERY light. The toast itself isn't coated in honey as I assumed, or doused in sugar topping as in churos. In fact, it does taste like a lightly sweeter version of toast. It is the whipping cream, ice cream and sauces that make the toast, sweet. In comparison to Canadian/Westernized treats, it will taste light and fluffy even though the concept itself is not. I would have to say if I come back, I will definitely get the waffles. Each bite was a light, heavenly perfection. Deliciously coated with fruit and real cream, this is how I personally love my waffles. The cuisine itself reminded me of Light Cafe in Toronto. The feeling of light meals and desserts in contrast with Canadian hearty, real maple syrup waffles is evident. If you prefer lighter desserts and adorable aesthetics, you must check out Dazzling Cafe.
