Today's entry is a look book, outfit of the day inspired, style guide mixed in with some highly amateur video editing skills. I have been trying to immurse myself with my videography passions. I think it is safe to say that these style videos are here to stay. I was so in love filming this video and even had a better time editing. While I await purchasing my first ever MacBook before school starts, I have been messing around with both iMovie and Videoshop on my iphone for editing. That's right, these high quality clips were shot with my cannon, transferred via Drop Box, saved on my phone and edited there. It has been a long few days and some of you may recognize these outfits from my Instagram, story from a few weeks back.
Feeling under the weather today on my day off, I have had some time to finally finish editing this video. I cannot wait to try out different editing softwares on my laptop and test out new applications. I am blessed to have platforms that allow me to fully express my creativity and my favourite passions.
ALSO, personal update. In a weeks time, I will embark on my third trip this summer. I think I will keep this one a surprise (again) until the day is here. Where do you think I fly off to next? Leave a comment below on my blog. For my loved ones who know, keep the surprise!
This video was shot with mostly Zaful pieces. I do love their stuff although it can be hit or miss, these items were definitely a HIT. The embroidery trend has started and ever since I repinned my first pair of embroidery jeans on Pinterest, I knew by the end of the summer I HAD to get my hands on a pair of my own.
Although this new style trend seems hard to match, I found a few tricks to keep in mind while matching embroidery styles.
1. Keep it Simple Choose one embroidery pattern and try to piece the colours together. For my first look, I kept with a pinkish, nude lip and white classic blouse not to overpower the pastel embroidery.
2. Stay Within The Colour Scheme I matched a white shoe to the top to ensure look one was crisp and classic. As with my second look, to pull from the red rose patch on the dress. I kept the shoes the same floral red, and added a bold red lip to match. Overall, the lips gave this look some pizzazz while remaining within the colours of the embroidery.
3. Have Fun! These tips were tid bits I came up with along the way. I always believe: if you love it, don't let the "fashion rules" stop you!
I am in no way, shape, or form a professional, as you can see this is pretty amateur stuff. But, I am blessed to say I have amazing friends like Gigi, who love to shoot these look books for and with me. Thank you my love. I hope to improve on my skills and editing abilities over time...and possibly borrow Caleb's tripod while I try and find mine!
