As you all know, I love food. No, I mean, I really love food. I enjoy trying new things and stepping out of my comfort zone from time to time. I'll try most things at least once. After the first bite, I usually know if it will be a hit or a miss for me.
Another thing my avid readers may know is my love for social media as a tool for inspiration. Instagram was the tool that initially spotted Adelaid Eats to me. Various Toronto food blogs shinned a light on this multiple outdoor eatery stand, which I knew immediately I HAD to try. The stands opened up in June and are quickly coming to a close in mid August. Before Caleb and I fly out today for a week in the sun, I knew I wanted to catch up with these stands, in hopes to try them out before they close.
The eatery stands are allocated up the stairs which reach to a gorgeous 'eat' stand. You will notice that these stands offer a sample of their extensive menus, for you to get a feel of what they have to offer and ensure you want to try their establishments again. I for one, took this as an opportunity to try as much as my stomach could stand, which is not good for trying to lose weight...haha.
Nonetheless, I was SO happy my friends and I were able to come here together. Adam, Jack, Alla and I were off to try out this foodie paradise.
We were able to try 6 stands during our adventure.
Our first stop was the highly anticipated Wahlburgers. I have been DYING to try this place since they first opened up in Toronto. Partly because I love burger joints while another (large) part of me wanted to be visit due to my teenage celebrity crush on Mark Wahlburg. I think he will forever remain a permanent fixture in my heart!
At each stop, we decided to try a little bit of everything. I ordered Thanksgiving Day Burger. Alla ordered The Origional, whereas Adam ordered The BBQ Bacon Burger.
Truthfully, mine was the best out of the three and we all agreed on it. Something about a stuffing and cranberry sauce burger made my tummy smile.
The other options we tried were Taco101, Momofuku and Fish'd. At these spots we feasted a few items such as tacos, pork buns and a salmon sushi burrito. I think we could all agree, our favourite meal was the burger & tatter tot combo from Wahlburgers. Adam would argue his favourite was the pork bun from Momofuku.
NOW, the moment you've all been waiting for, or atleast, I was eager for...DESSERT!
We decided to try two different desserts, both of which, I have had on my Toronto list for a while! Fugo andDoughToare must try's
Fugo gained popularity for its aesthetics and now after trying it, its taste matched its appeal. These cones are absolutely DELICIOUS. The ice cream itself mimics the taste of a cookies and cream with a touch of sweetness...almost like cotton candy...but not really! As a blogger, I am at a loss for words, nonetheless, worthy of an order. We all collectively wanted bite after bite after bite until it was all gone.
I first saw DoughTo from my friend Lane's IG story. Within seconds, I reached out to ask where he found this spot! Kensington Market has opened up a pop up fixture that I was ideally hoping to try within the recent weeks. As my schedule became more and more dense, I saw my opportunity fleeting. Thankfully, Adelaid Eats added this dough-ey goodness to their repertoire.
The verdict...FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! I re-purchased a to go option to bring home to my brother and he ate the 3 scoops in one sitting. My favourite flavour was The White Chocolate. In this cookie dough flavour, there are pieces of white chocolate and sporadic rainbow sprinkles which makes it aesthetically pleasing as well as delicious! With their pairing milk shot, your taste buds will thank you for this purchase. Jack ordered The Charcoal flavour which had a few vanilla notes inside, making it very tasty.
