Today is the day... or as Stranger Things 2 refers to it as "the greatest day of the year".
I adore Halloween. I wish I had the time to solely celebrate this not so traditional "holiday" for 7 full days! Nonetheless, I try to emerge myself in all things Halloween whenever the opportunity presents itself. One aspect of this spooky season that fills me with joy is the dress up and makeup aspect. I love special effects makeup. More specifically, I like the idea of tapping into a darker side or emulating a character/archetype that I love. I adore cultivating fake scars and gore within my Halloween makeup. This year, with my nuance with Youtube videos and fully emerging myself into my blog...I wanted to film a how-to video on creating these cuts in a really easy step-to-step guide.
Seeing as today is the day of dress up, buying the exact products that I have used will be hard/maybe hard to find. BUT, I have attached various other equally amazing dupes that I have also used over the years. These are ones you can find at your local Walmart, Party City or Spirit Halloween stores.
Most of the products seen in my tutorial were purchased fromCamera Ready Cosmetic'sonline boutique - they have amazing special effects products, used by professionals. Again, I will attach dupes for the last minute shoppers below!
If you are anything like me, I actively search out Halloween themed products (food and drinks alike). I noticed the "blood bag" drinkon Instagram and smiled from ear to ear as I sent the picture to Caleb. I knew with my schedule, I wouldn't be able to get this drink in time.
On Oct. 28th, a few friends, my bf and I went to a friend's Halloween party/birthday (Hi beautiful Peta)! Parking was HORRENDOUS downtown. As irony would have it, the only parking spot was located adjacent from The Alley, home to this blood bag drink. At first I wasn't sure if The Alley was where this item was sold. I looked back to my saved pictures and low and behold...IT WAS! I eagerly showed Caleb and with excitement I knew I was going to cross this off my must try list. He looked at me and we looked at the time...it was 11. Uh oh...it's probably closed. Caleb is the best, he hopped out of the car to both check and purchase this item for me because he knew I really wanted it as I dismissed us even checking.
To be honest, I would probably ask for a change in the drink inside. Opting out the green tea or other products and customize it into a taste I would like, but the aesthetics was PERFECT to my alien-esque costume.
Check out my Halloween blog last year to see my melted skull look & my insight on favourite Halloween songs...I LOVE H-A-L-L-O-W-E-E-N!!!!! 🎃🎃
Have a happy Halloween everyone. Please stay safe tonight and have an amazing Halloween night! You can keep up with my night via my IG story. Caleb and I will be binging on ST2, Halloween movies & TONS of treats!
